Fish

On two occasions over the last number of years the European Federation of Sea Anglers have held the European championships here in Cahirsiveen due to the quality of fishing and the amount of species, 32 different species were caught over five days.

The area around Valentia holds a total of 5 Irish records incl:

Conger Eel - 72lbs caught 1914
Blue Mouth - 2.4 lbs
Lesser spotted dogfish - 4lbs 4ozs
Ray's bream - 6lbs 4.25ozs
Red sea bream - 9lbs 6ozs

We carry a fully certified scales on board incase you break any of these records or indeed caught a new Irish record or catch any specimen fish.

And for those very large skate than turn up on occasions we have a measuring tape, as these are a protected species and must be returned alive.(After your photos)
